Born July 1848 in White Oak, Highland County, OH, third child, first son of Henry and Elizabeth Taggert Helsley. In 1885, he married Rosa Wright in Washington Township, Pettis, MO. Between 1889 and Dec 1890 they moved to El Monte Township (Duarte), Los Angeles, CA. He resided there until his death (flu epidemic), August 25, 1919. His brother, Joseph Gilbert Helsley died 14 Aug 1919 also possible flu victim. He was my maternal g granduncle.
