Born in Douglas MA, Aug, 4, 1766, was a cabinet maker; finished his apprentiship in Providence RI. He settled in Readsboro VT where he lived about 25 years. In 1818 he removed with his family to Pompey NY, and in 1828 to Conewango NY which was then a wilderness. He married , Nov. 4, 1789, Experience Bailey, Who was born in Douglas MA, Nov. 3, 1766, and died in Conewango, Nov 3, 1834. He died in Phelps NY, Sept. 9, 1938.
Children; John, Ellis, Caleb, Theophilis, Fletcher and Joseph all left Leon , New York with their familys and moved to Wisconsin. Freeborn G. Fairbanks went to Johnstown, Wisconsin. Sometime later some of his children settled in Wapaun Wisconsin.
1793 - was the town clerk of Readsboro - first town meeting was held 3/17/1894
