Joseph Allan Shileika, 39, a lifetime resident of Barstow, passed away Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005. He was born August 9, 1965 in Barstow. He worked as cook for 20 years. Joe graduated for Barstow High School in 1983. He sent much of his life coaching young people and he served as an altar boy and youth minister at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Survivors include his parents, Craig Shileika and Irma Shileika of Vancouver, Wash.; brother, Jonathon Shileika of Barstow; sister, Teresa Shileika of Vancouver, Wash.; sister-in-law, Sheri Shileika of Barstow; nephew, Justin Shileika of Barstow; niece, Caitlin Shileika of Barstow; grandmother; Hilda Shileika of Vancouver, Wash.; aunt/godmother, Anna Marie Gonzales of Barstow; uncle/godfather, Raymond Gonzales of Barstow; uncles, J.R. Guerrero of Las Vegas, Nev., George Shileika of Battleground, Wash., and Bruce Shileika of Seattle, Wash.; aunts, Chirs Shileika of Battleground, Wash., Carlota Sanchez of Barstow, and Ona McFarlane of Morning View, Ky.and various cousins and family in California, Washington, Oregon, Michigan and Massachusetts. Rosary will be held Friday, Feb. 25, 2005 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Mass will follow at 11 a.m. also at St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
