Burial followed in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Winnfield under the direction of Southern Funeral Home, Winnfield.
Mr. Thomas, age 80 of Winnfield, died Tuesday, August 14, 2001 in the Winn Parish Medical Center. He was born in Punkin Center, LA, was a retired contract driller and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors are his wife, Mary Long Thomas of Winnfield; two daughters, Beverly Queen of Lake Charles and Doylynn Alexander of Winnfield, LA; four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were: James Howell, Collin Brown, Jeremy Lashley, Harvey Lee Sweat, Gene Sweat and Dale Cheney.
