Samuel Alfred Garrett was born on August 6, 1923 to Anson and Macie (Eckert) Garrett in San Saba County. He served in the United States Army Corps of Engineers during World War II. He was the owner of the Texaco Service Station in Richland Springs for many years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Richland Springs. He is survived by his sister, Jimmie Korenek of Richland Springs; several nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Wanda Garrett of Ulysses, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Joe Bob Garrett.
