Son of Henry Keltner (Jr. ?) and Catherine Peters Keltner.
Family data sheet at Fairfield Public Library indicates birth year as either 1791 or 1792. Will use 1791 with that caution.
Married Sarah Smith on May 15, 1809 in Wythe County, Virginia by A. Moffatt.
Children: Williams S, Morgan Boone, David, Elizabeth, Catherine, Martha Lane, Sarah Jane, Rachel*, and Nancy.
Unfortunately there were no 1873 newspapers from the Fairfield area (primarily the Fairfield Ledger) that were available for microfilming in the 1970's and since. It wasn't that issues were not published, just that none for that year found and available to be microfilmed. As a result, if there was a obituary published for Henry Keltner it is not to be found in microfilmed records stored at the Fairfield Public Library. It is possible that some Keltner family descendant has a copy - if so, please contact this contributor so it can be added to this memorial.
The 1872 Fairfield Ledger story attached to his memorial mentioned Henry Keltner as being one of the county residents that were older than 80 years old at that time.

Note:
Henry was a brother of Sarah Keltner Vance.
* According to a SAC message on May 30, 2016, this daughter, Rachel, was married at least three times:
"Rachel Keltner, born 1828 in Morgan County, Illinois. Married Anthony Downing in 1841, Married Timothy Slavens c. 1858, Married Garland Jones in 1872. Died after 1910" Information about exactly when she died and where buried (and with which husband, if any, was not provided in this message, however.
