Son of Julia Longhofer and Isaac Riffel. Ira was united in marriage with Florence HAMM at Durham. Ira was preceded in death by his parents, his twin sister, Irene, a sister, Leah, and three brothers, Jesse, Dan and Walter. He is survived by his wife, Florence; two daughters, Norma Pschigoda, and her husband, Von, Hope, and Mary Riffel, and her husband, Rod, Rose Hill; a son, Rick Riffel, and his wife, Kim, Russell; eight grandchildren, Robin and Stacey Pschigoda, Brennam, Megan and Many Riffel, and Matthew, Isaac and Alexa Riffel. He is also survived by seven brothers, Manuel and Andrew, of Salina; Sylvester, of Herington; Ben, Harry, George and Clayton, of Hope; and one sister, Ollie Deines, of Herington.
Music was provided by Helen Guthals at the organ, and by Pat and Eldon Riffel, who sang, "How Great Thou Art." "Beyond the Sunset," and "Because He Lives." Serving as casketbearers were Roger Beecham, Eddie Riffel, Brennan Riffel, Clayton Hamm, Myron Hamm, Gerald Riffel, Mike Hamm, and Lonnie Hamm. Serving as honorary casketbearers were Donald McMahan, Verl Longhofer, Glee Anderson, Clarence Rickeman, Harold Fick, Kenneth Brenner, and Marcellus Sandow. Burial was in the Ebenezer Church Cemetery
