Jeannie (Pearson) Overman Jones, 61, of Vancleave, MS, passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2008 after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was a resident of Jackson County since 1959. She was born April 22, 1947 in Sylacauga, Al to Melvin and Glendora Pearson. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Pascagoula and was affliated with the Krewe of Ulysses since 1977. She worked at Calvary Baptist Kindergarten for 12 years, and Singing River Mental Health in Pascagoula for 19 years. She was preceded in death by her grandparents; her first husband, Danny Overman; her father, Melvin Pearson; a brother-in-law, Tommy Pierce, and numerous other relatives. She is survived by her soul-mate, her husband of 13 years, Jamie Jones; three daughters, Kathy Overman Lytle (Mark) of Coral Springs, FL, Laura Overman Thomson (Gregor) of Yorktown, VA, and Hayley Afton Jones of Picayune, MS; "The Light of her Life". her four grandchildren, Molly and Daniel Lytle and Alasdair and Moira Thomson; her mother Glennie Pearson of Gautier; two sisters, Barbara Pearson Boykin (Andy) of Gautier and Lynn Pearson Pierce of Clinton; step daughter, Hayley Jones of Ocean Springs; In-laws Alvia and Barbara Jones; Brother-in-laws David ( Stacy) Jones, Kenneth Jones, and Jim (Rachelle) Sizemore, nieces, nephews and their families, Matt, Chrystal, and Drew Boykin, Michelle and Derek Greer, Austin and John Pierce, Treyton, Jacob and Joshua Jones and Skyler and Tristan Sizemore, and other relatives and friends. Visitation will be Friday, December 26, 2008 from 12-2pm at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula with funeral service to follow at 2pm in the Chapel. Interment will conclude services at Machpelah Cemetery. Those unable to attend may send condolences to www.obryantokeefe.com.
