MATHILDA MERTENS
Mrs. John Mertens, 75, nee Tilllie Ramin, died Saturday afternoon at her home in Two Rivers. She had been in ill health for about a year.
Funeral services held at the Klein and Stangel Inc., funeral home chapel and at St. John Lutheran church. The Rev. W. G. Haase officiated with burial in Pioneers Rest cemetery.
Mrs. Mertens was born in Two Rivers in 1876 and after attending St. John graded school worked in several homes in Two Rivers at the Mann Brothers Pail factory. In 1893 she was married to John Mertens.
Survivors are the husband; two daughters, Mrs. Ike Shamrak of Two Rivers and Mrs. Earl Raatz of route 2, Manitowoc; two sons, Harold and Randolph of Two Rivers; three grandchildren and one great grandchild.
