Funeral services for Mr. Eric Lamar Perkins were at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, June 12, 2009 in Hopewell Baptist Church, Elizabeth the Reverend David Ragland officiated. Interment followed in Occupy # 2 Cemetery, Pitkin under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pitkin.

Mr. Perkins, 30, of Pitkin, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 in Mamou.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clyde Lamar Perkins, Jr.; his paternal grandparents, Clyde Lamar Perkins, Sr. and Ina Claire Perkins and his maternal grandfather, Albert Odom.

Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include his loving wife of eleven years, Miranda Perkins of Mittie; his mother Margie Nell Hathorn of Pitkin; step-dad, Daniel Hathorn; two sisters, Rhonda Marler of Ball and Karen Bloodsworth of Pitkin; his maternal grandmother, Ima Odom; five nieces and one special aunt, Tiger Odom who called him "Governor".
