John M. Radford, Sr., 77, of Chester, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 19, 2007. He was preceded in death by his son, Gary Dean Radford, Sr. and brother, Eugene "Moose" Radford.

Surviving are his beloved wife, Kathleen S. Radford; daughters, Teresa R. Porter and Janet R. Stout; sons, John M. Radford, Jr. and Gary "Butchie" Radford, Jr.; sister, Louise Plemmons; brothers, Fred, Ben, Leroy and H.B. Radford; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren which include his special little buddies, Bryson and Hunter. Mr. Radford was a U.S. Army veteran and a retired Truck Driver with Best Trucking.

His family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rt. 10). His funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at 1 p.m. in the Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that contributions be made to American Cancer Society 4240 Park Place Ct. Glen Allen, VA 23060.
