In 1851 he married Hester A. Baker, a native of Indiana, who left the world in 1858. He afterward married Elizabeth Stewart, a native of Shelby County, Ind. Mr. Selby is the parent of five children - Viola, Ann E. and John (twins), and Alvin and Calvin (twins). In politics, Mr. Selby has always voted with the Democratic party and has held several township offices.
