Mrs. Janet B. Aitken of Belle Vernon, R.D. 1, died suddenly yesterday May 1, at 5:30 a.m. at her late home.
Born in Motherwell, Scotland, Nov. 24, 1881, and lived in the Fellsburg area the past 56 years, coming to the United States in 1902.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ, Monongahela, and a charter member of the Daughters of Scotia Lodge 45, Donora.
She is survived by three sons, Robert of Belle Vernon, R. D. 1, William of Monongahela, R. D. 1, and James of West Newton; five daughters, Mrs. William (Margaruite) Ritchie of Monongahela, R. D. 1; Mrs. Herbert (Anne) Elgar of Montreal, Canada, Mrs. Beecher (Janet) Gibbs of Belle Vernon, R.D. 1, Mrs. Idris (Ellen) Martin, Belle Vernon, R.D. 1, and Mrs. Russell (Grace) Graham of Meadville; 29 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.
Friends are being received at the Lawson Funeral Home, Donora, where services will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. in charge of the Rev. William H. Cadman of the Church of Jesus Christ. Interment will follow in the Fells Cemetery, Fellsburg. Richard E. Lawson, funeral director.
