Born in Jackson Township, Lebanon County, son of the late Adam and Sarah (Weidle) Gasssert, he was a retired farmer.
Gassert was member of St. John's (Host) United Church of Christ.
Surviving are his widow, Mabel (Reedy) Gassert, and a son, Russell, of Bernville.
Three daughters: Mary, wife of Marvin Weik, Sheridan R. D. 1; Pearl, wife of Charles Billman, Lebanon R. D. 2, and Laura, wife of Paul Wolfe Jr., Myerstown R. D. 1.
Also 17 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and two brothers: Simon, of New Burlington, Ohio, and Paul, of this place.
Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Bahney Funeral Home, here, the Rev. Elmer A. Dech officiating. Burial will be in Host Church Cemetery.
