Lula Cress
SPRAY, Ore. - Lula Kurt Bowler Cress, 79, died April 1, 1990, at her home. She was born April 25, 1910, in Enterprise, Utah to Annis Edith Booth and Alfred Frank Kurt. She married James Auston Bowler in Enterprise. They were later divorced. She married Ted Cross on October 1, 1973, in Winnamuca, Nev.
She was an active member of the LDS Church since 1943. She was a Visiting Teacher, secretary of Primary and secretary of the Sunday School. She was also a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and also worked on a boys ranch in Mt. Charlston, Nev.
She enjoyed tatting and crocheting articles for friends and family arid for entering them in fairs.
Survivors include her husband of Spray; four sons and eight daughters: Mrs. Mary Edith Carder, Las Vegas, Mrs. Clayton (Betty Lou) Bracken, Beryl, Utah; Mrs. Nellie LuDean Duran, Merced, Mrs. Delores Gay Pearce, Pioche, Alfred Wallace Bowler, South Jordan, Utah; Auston Kay Bowler, Beaver, Utah; Mrs. William (Velda Gail) Schell, Turlock, Mrs. Peggy Dorine Brubaker, Winston, James Bruce Bowler, Spray, Brent Lula Cress Bowler, Turlock, Mrs. Martina Keiling, LaGrande, Ore., Mrs. Arnold (Rose Adel) Dail, Manteca, one brother, Faunt LeRoy Kurt, Washington, Utah; 41 grandchildren; 63 great grandchildren; 6 step great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held April 7, in Spray, Ore. Burial was in the Richmond Cemetery.
