Rev. W. C. McClelland received a message Monday evening bearing the tidings of tho death of his brother, John, at Pierre, S. D., which occurred at St. Mary's hospital of paralysis. Tho body was shipped to Nodaway and the funeral was held Wednesday afternoon at Mt. Zion church where he had been a member for many yours. The service was conducted by Rev. J. K. Driver of Red Oak, after which interment was made in Methodist Grove cemetery. Deceased was 69 years, 3 months, and 29 days of age. He came to Adams County in 1859 where he lived until a few years ago when he went to South Dakota. His children are Lillie, residing in Oregon; Elver at Yuma, Colorado; Robert of Parker, South Dakota; Stella of Omaha, Nebraska; Alma of Pierre, South Dakota; He also leaves two brothers and three sisters, Rev. W. C. McClelland and P. M. McClelland and Mrs. A. G. Kennon of Corning and Cynthia and Lizzie of Nodaway. The deceased was a highly respected gentleman and had many friends in this county who will regret to learn of his death. John was the son of Paul D. McClelland and Elizabeth Guthrie.
