Mr. Davis died Friday, July 16, 1993. Born in Lexington County, he was a son of the late Grover Cleveland and Mattie Franklin Davis. A former member of the Batesburg-Leesville National Guard unit, he retired as an employee of Hartwell Industries. He was a former deacon, Sunday school superintendent and Sunday school teacher of Bethlehem Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Rubie Rikard Davis; daughters, Jackie Hallman of Dawsonville, Ga., and Phyllis Cockrell of Leesville; a brother, Harvey Davis of Batesburg; sisters, Cleverta Davis, Ruby Lynn Risinger and Marian Taylor, all of Batesburg; and five grandchildren.
