Thursday, August 12, 1943

FRANK R. BREWER

Frank Raymond Brewer, son of Samuel and Mary Brewer, was born in Douglas County, Ill., Sept. 2nd, 1872 and died August 1st, 1943 at the age of 70 years, 10 months and 29 days.

He was married on December 18, 1892 to Mertie M. Fierce at Van Wert, Iowa, who passed away Nov. 18, 1917 at Russell, Iowa. To this union three children were born, Claude R. Brewer, of Cottonwood, Calif., Mrs. Lois West of Chariton, Iowa and Beryl Edwin Brewer, who preceded him in death.

On Oct. 14, 1925 he was married to Martha M. Lodge whom he leaves to mourn his death. Also sharing in this sorrow are the son and daughter, Claude and Lois, two step-daughters, Mrs. S. Altizer of Popejoy, Iowa and Mrs. J. W. Kauffman of Audubon, Iowa, 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

He also leaves three brothers, Oll Brewer of Sacramento, Calif.; Charlie Brewer of Des Moines, Iowa; Walter Brewer of Chariton, Iowa; two sisters, Mrs. Louie Keller of San Francisco, Calif.; and Mrs. Blanche Carr of Des Moines, Iowa; two step-sisters, Mrs. W. B. Thompson of Chariton, Iowa; and Mrs. E. W. Arnet of Arkansas City, Kan.; a step-brother, Chas. M. Sampson of Ill.; a number of nieces and nephews besides a host of other relatives and friends.

Mr. Brewer was converted when 23 years of age and placed his membership with the Methodist church. He has always been a faithful attendant at the services and throughout the years has taken an active interest in the affairs of the church.

A loving husband, a kind father and a good friend, he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services were held Thursday August 5th at 2:30 p.m. at the Russell Methodist church, conducted by Rev. A. E. Beals and assisted by Rev. David Ash. Interment was made at the Russell Cemetery.
