OBITUARY

Robert Ellsworth Figg, son of Sely and Nancy Anne Figg, was born Nov. 22, 1865, on a farm about two miles northwest of Ellettsville, Indiana, in what is known as the Red Hill community, and passed away at his home near Stinesville, Indiana, on March 25, 1935, aged 69 years, four months and three days.

His entire life was spent in or near the towns of Ellettsville and Stinesville. His boyhood was spent on the farm, but at an early age he left the farm to take up the occupation of quarry worker, which he continued until recent years.

He was united in marriage to Nora B. Matson in August 1893. To this union were born six children: Ralph H. Figg, of Bloomington; Mrs. William Acuff, of near Ellettsville; Mrs. Carl Taylor, of Stinesville; Estelle P. Figg and Mrs. Clinton Hay, of Ellettsville; and Norman Figg, at home.

In the year 1915 he confessed his Lord and Savior, and united with the First Presbyterian Church at Ellettsville. Although in failing health for several years, he was always in a jovial disposition at home and among his friends. He seemed always to have a smile and a word for all whom he met.

He leaves to mourn their loss his wife, the six children, fourteen grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Fulk, of Bloomington, and Mrs. Mary E. Miller, of Ellettsville and a host of relatives and friends.
