Joseph Alfano, 84, of 561 South Clinton Avenue, died today after a long illness.
Born in Italy, he lived in Trenton since 1905 [sic] and had operated a meat market at his home for 50 years. He was a member of the St. Cologero and the New Casteltermini Societies.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Jean Buttice Alfano; a son, Joseph of California; four daughters, Mrs. Emil Sulzman [sic] of Pittsburgh, Pa., Mrs. Charles Schliecher of Easton, Pa., Mrs. Caesar Marchesano of Lansdowne, Pa., and Mrs. James Giglio of Trenton; a sister, Mrs. Agostino Buttice of St. Louis, Mo.; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Friday at 8 a.m. from the Gruerio Funeral Home, 311 Chestnut Avenue. Requiem high mass will be celebrated at 9 in St. Joachim's Church and interment will be in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m.
