William Brock
JASPER, June 15 - William Brock was born at Canandaigua, N.Y., Nov. 25, 1841, and died June 11, 1912, aged 70 years.

He was one of eight children born to Robert and Elizabeth Ostron Brock. When two years of age the family moved to Michigan, where the most of the long and useful life of Mr. Brock was spent in and around Fairfield.
In 1861 when the country called he was one of the many to give up home and loved ones for the hardships of war, enlisting in Company A, Seventeenth Michigan Infantry, and at the close was honorably discharged, and with a younger brother who had gone with him, he returned to gladden the hearts of the aged parents.

July 2, 1865, he was United in marriage to Julia Holden Grove, who survives him. To this Union were born three sons and five daughters, Almon, Albert, Fannie and Lillie who have preceded him, Mrs. Cora Ringquist of Adrian, Mrs. Elmore Phipps and Elgie Brock, both of Adrian. Eight grandchildren, two brothers, Jasper and Merrill Brock of Jasper, Mich., three sisters, Mrs. Marion Ross of Metamora, O., Mrs. Lucy Brockway of Petersburg and Mrs. Sarah Brockway of Adrian, are left to mourn. One sister Mrs. Margaret Ross and two half sisters, Mrs. Olive Larkins and Mrs. Clarissa Ordway, preceded him in death. There are many other relatives.

The many expressions of sympathy both in beautiful flowers and kindly deeds show the high esteem in which he was held in the community where he had lived so many years.
