Lawrence Bruce Fletcher, 79, of Altus, died Thursday, May 28, 2009, at Tamarack Assisted Living Center.
Lawrence Bruce Fletcher was born Jan. 22, 1930, to Carson and Sadie (Bruce) Fletcher in Riverside, Calif. He attended school in Riverside, and Las Vegas, Nev. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1959. On Oct. 24, 1964, he married Myrna Moore in Norfolk, Va. After faithfully serving his country for 20 years, he retired as a Navy Boatswain's Mate E-6. His hobbies were fishing, NASCAR, and football.
He was preceded in death by his wife and parents. He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Helferich and husband Dennis of Altus; a brother, Bob Fletcher of Riverside; a grandson, Joseph Helferich and wife Michelle of Waldorf, Md; and two great-grandchildren, Kayla and Lucas.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home.
