W. A. Kirk came from Alabama to Red River Co. Texas with his parents when he was three weeks old. He was the son of George Kirk (1868-1945, buried at Sadler Cemetery, Grayson Co. TX)and wife, Georgia Ann Stephens (1873-1953, buried next to husband) W. A. Kirk married Lucie McGavock of Briscoe Co. TX in 1929. They raised four children in Floydada, Floyd County, Texas, they later moved to Canyon, Texas where they owned and operated the W. T. Motel until retirement in Canyon.
