Shirley Maxine Humphreys, 60, Topeka, died Saturday, Sept. 26, 1998, at a Topeka hospital.
She was born August 12, 1938, near Goff in Nemaha County, to Harry H. and Mabel Catherine (VanDonge) Massey, and was graduated from Goff High School in 1956. She lived in Circleville before she moved to Topeka 14 years ago. She was employed by Gardner Floor Covering.
She was a member of the Christian Church in Goff and attended Southwest Christian Church in Topeka.
She was married to Leonard B. Humphreys Dec. 22, 1956, in Topeka. He died in 1986.
Survivors include sons, Rick Humphreys, Kansas City, Kan., and Jeff Humphreys, Topeka; a stepson, Dan Humphreys, Alamogordo, N.M.; a daughter, Lori Fickel, Topeka; a brother, Harry D. Massey, Holton; a sister, Sandy Durvea, Corning; and 10 grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be in Soldier Cemetery in Soldier. Mrs. Humphreys will lie in state after noon today at the funeral home where visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or to First Baptist Church in Holton.
