She was born in the Rocky Ridge Community to H. T. "Dick" and Iva (Stephens) Vance. She was a long-time member of Rocky Ridge Baptist Church, and current member of Main Street Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Martha Sunday School Class. Jo Anna was a gentle, caring, and giving person who was always concerned about others before herself. Though not rich in material possessions, she was blessed with treasure beyond compare by her faith in God and the love of family and friends. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, singing old time gospel music, traveling, and spending time with those she loved. She is survived by three daughters, Gwenda Ruth Allen Cashmere, Mary Annette Cagle Rose and husband, James Flowers, Rose Marie Cagle Hammond and husband, Mark; three sons, Everett Euel Allen, Jr. and wife Barbara, William Freeman Allen and wife Glenda, Stephens Vance Allen and wife Linda; one step-daughter, Delores Cagle Walters; two sisters, Florence Tucker and husband, L. D. "Choc", Zoe Southern and husband Howard; eleven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Everett Allen i 1952 and Clifford Cagle in 1974; one sister, Willie Bacon; one brother, Henry Vance; step son, Coleman Cagle, and step daughter, Doris Cagle Kay. Funeral services will be Thursday, June 11, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Main Street Baptist Church in Stigler. Interment will be at Vance Cemetery in Stigler.
