James R Bodnar, 52, of 2517 Sherwood Dr, Lorain, owner of Bodnar's Restaurant and Lounge, died in his home Thursday after a long illness.
Born in Hungary, he lived in Lorain 22 yean, and served in the Army from 1948 to 1950. Mr Bodnar owned and operated Bodnar's Aviation School of Flying for six years. He was a member of St Ladislaus Church.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara to whom he was married 25 years, a son, James C., Oberlin and a daughter, Charlene at home, his mother, Mrs. Regina Karnay, and two half-sisters, a Regina and Margaret,all living in Czechoslovakia.
Friends will be received in the John R Dovin Funeral Home, Lorain, Saturday from 7 to 9 pm and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p m.. St Anne's Auxillary will have a rosary service in the funeral home Sunday. Services will be Monday at 9:30 am in the funeral home and at 10 am at St. Ladislaus Church, The Rev. Alex Demetzky will officiate and bunal will be in Calvary Cemetery
