A telegram was received in this city this afternoon by Mrs. Minerva Cooley Winters, announcing the death of her husband, G. J. Winters, in a hospital in Chicago, Thursday morning.
He was 38 years old and had been ill in Chicago for two weeks. He was a prominent attorney and the burial will occur at his home in Waco, Texas.
Mrs. Winter had been in Mayfield for the past week or ten days on a visit to her mother, Mrs M. B. Cooley, and both will leave tonight for Waco to meet the body and attend the funeral. The cause of his death was heart trouble.
