Stricken in Lansing—Funeral Held Saturday For Heart Victim
Funeral services were held at Bandfield Chapel on Saturday afternoon for Henry Newman, 69, brief mention of whose sudden death was made last week.
Wayne Berger, Christian Science reader, officiated at the service, and burial was in Portland.
Bearers were Robert Salin, Claude Ludwig, Thomas Cowley, Karl Holloway, Harold Newman.
….(portion missing)…at the east village…(missing)…now owned by Mr. and Mrs. Dan Manning. After selling the farm to Mr. and Mrs. Ed Manning Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Newman went to Seneca Falls, N.Y. and lived there a number of years, later coming back to Portland, and residing on Elm street, where Mrs. Newman (the former Anna Larson) died a few years ago.
Surviving are two sons, Claire E. of Sweet Home, Oregon; Ensign Dale Newman, of the naval air force, stationed at Key West, Fla., and a daughter, Mary Newman, New York.
Dale arrived here from Florida on a leave three days before
his father's death, and Claire came to the funeral by plane.
Other attending the funeral from away were Harold A. Newman, Marilla, N.Y.; Rosemary Newman, Buffalo; Mrs. Arthur Newman, Annapolis, Md., whose husband was killed off Newfoundland during the last war. He had served many years in the Navy.
