John Linwood "June" White Jr, died in the Riverside Regional Medical Center, Newport News, VA. He graduated in 1956 from Salisbury High School, Salisbury, MD. After graduation, he served 2 years active duty in the Vietnam War with the US Army as a cryptographic operator and 3 years in the US Air Force as a communication specialist. He retired from Northrop Grumman Shipyard, Newport News, VA after 38 years of service in department X-31as a master electrician. He was a member and senior warden of the Masonic Masons Eastgate Lodge No.2l. He was also the producer of "June's Garden" which he displayed and shared with all who passed by Center Ave.

A life celebration service was held at 12 noon, Monday, February 23, 2009 in the Emmanuel Baptist Church, 521 North Ave, Newport News, VA. Interment in the Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk, VA (with Military Honors).
