He was the husband of Clarissa A. Hartgrove, and the son of Gloud Finley (1795-1853) and Elizabeth (Wells) (1802-1863) Long. His children were Pinkney Lawson, and Lilly Louisa Long. Pinkney Lawson Long was born 1857 in NC and died unknown. He married 27 Jun 1878 Sarah Christopher. Sarsh was born 1860 in NC and died unknown. Lilly Louisa Long was born in 1859 and married John Asbury Burrell. This family was from Haywood County, North Carolina. Gloud Finley and Elizabeth (Wells) Long are buried in the Bethel Community Cemetery, Haywood County, NC.
