Walter Charles Busby was the forth child second son born to Marcus Gipson Busby and Alma Frances Baskins Busby-Taylor on July 14th, 1934 in Saint Francis County, Arkansas. Spending some of his youth in Arkansas, Walter finish his formative years in Saint Louis, Missouri. At age seventeen, he enlisted in the United States Navy, as a Radioman, and served in the western Pacific theater in support of the Korean War. Walter returned to Saint Louis, after the war, and remained for the rest of his life. During his life, he was a sailor, factory worker, car salesman, business owner, father of two sons, and an accomplished golfer. As he desired, he died in his back swing on the golf course. He is preceeded in death by his father and two sisters, Arlene and Mary Hellen. Left to remember him are his mother, two brother, Daryl Gene "Sonny" and Bobby John, his sister Joann Reckley, and two sons Vohn Gibson and Darren Michael. According to Lois' daughter, Walter's ashes were buried with Lois at Zion Cemetery in St. Louis County.
