Burton D. Carver, 69, of Rochester, formerly of Bloomington, died at 3:50 p.m. Friday at St. John's Hospital, Springfield.

He was born in Dry Fork, Ky. on December 20, 1905.

Before leaving Bloomington 30 years ago, he was employed in the old Chicago and Alton Shops and by the Laborers Union.

He is survived by his wife; one son; three daughters; 20 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Moss Carver and William Carver; two sisters, Mrs. Pearl Gilbert and Miss May Carver.

Mr. Carver was a member of the Masonic Lodge and was retired from the International Laborer's Union in Springfield.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Wilson Park Memorial Home, Rochester. Burial will be in Rochester. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
