D. Marion Suiter, 65, Nyssa, died June 30, 1991, at his home in Nyssa. The rosary will be recited today at 7 p.m. at St. Bridget's Catholic Church in Nyssa. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Nyssa Cemetery with the Rev. Dennis Strachota, officiating, under the direction of Nyssa's Lienkaemper Chapel.
Suiter was born Sept. 4, 1925, in Wilder, the son of Glen and Melvina Evans Suiter. He was reared and educated in Wilder and graduated from Nyssa High School. He entered the U.S. Navy where he participated in Golden Gloves boxing. Following his discharge he returned to Caldwell and attended college for two years. He then owned and operated a truck. He moved to Phoenix, Ariz., where he operated a truck for Safeway. He later owned a tavern. He returned to Nyssa in 1969 where he farmed until ill health forced his retirement in 1985. He had resided in Nyssa since. During he middle to late 1940s he was active in the rodeo circuits where he won many events. He married Ilene Blodgett in 1969 in Spokane, Wash.
Survivors include his wife, Ilene of Nyssa; three sons, David M. Suiter of Nyssa, Matthew and Steven Suiter both of Las Vegas, Nev.; two daughters, Candy Brabant and Susan Emerson both of Las Vegas; a step-son, Steve Alworth of Coeur d'Alene; his mother, Melvina Suiter of Nyssa; a brother, Clarence Suiter of Eagle; one sister, Norma Jean of Phoenix and 10 grandchildren.
