Nona L. Jackson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, died Thursday, March 27, 2003 at Central Washington Hospital after an extended illness. She was 72.

She was born to Floyd L. and Edna B. (Hinkley) Myers on August 30, 1930 in Salubria, Idaho. Nona spent her childhood years in Idaho moving to Washington in her early teens. Her family settled in Peshastin, where she graduated from high school in 1948.

While working at the telephone company, she met Bill Jackson and they were married at Coeur d' Alene, Idaho on November 17, 1951. They spent most of their life together in Wenatchee.

To this marriage were born a daughter, Denise and a son, Dennis. During the early years of their marriage, Nona was active in Emblem Club.

Over the course of 35 years in banking, Nona worked for Wenatchee Federal Savings and Loan, Columbia Federal Savings and Loan and Washington Mutual Savings Bank. She helped open the branch at Valley North Mall in the late 60's.

Nona retired from banking in January 1996 and again in 1997 after the birth of her youngest grandson. Her co-workers and customers had always been a very special part of her life.

Before her retirement, Nona often visited Colonial Vista, helping customers living there with their banking. Nona was a friend to all; those who knew her loved her sense of humor and loving ways.

Nona is survived by her husband, Bill of the family home; daughter, Denise (Gary) Jeffris of Cashmere; a son, Dennis Jackson and Sara Pritchard of Wenatchee; grandchildren,
