Note that the Latin inscription says that he died 3 April 1850 at age 38. Here's a full translation of it: "[Dedicated] to Newton Ward Wallop, barrister. Second son of Barton Powlett Wallop, officer of the British Army, and great-grandson of John, Earl of Portsmouth. Having trusted in Jesus the savior of mankind and always professed the faith of the Anglican Church, he died A.D. 1850, the third day of April, in his 38th year of age."
