As a young man Levi moved with his brother Joseph from Massachusetts to Cranbury, Middlesex County, New Jersey. Lee's history says Levi bred cattle and horses, and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Cranbury. He lived for a time in Hamilton Square, where he was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and served on the Township Committee. In 1876 Levi moved to Penns Neck, where he continued to farm and breed Guernsey and Jersey cattle and horses. He transferred to the First Presbyterian Church of Dutch Neck, and was an elder at the time of his death.
