William R. (Willoughby) Herring was a son of John P. Herring and Amanda Jane Knight, a grandson of John Herring and Lucy Carver, and, William L. Knight and Eliza Hornbuckle. He was my 1st cousin 3 times removed.

On Aug. 6, 1895 in Callaway Co., Missouri, he married Dedia Davidson. They had one child, William D. Herring.

On Dec. 10, 1902 in Callaway Co., Missouri, he married Mattie C. Bartley.

They formerly lived on a farm between Guthrie and Carrington, Missouri, leaving Callaway in 1926 to move to Jefferson City. Later they moved to Springfield where they operated a greenhouse and truck farm.
