Artist. Born in Cologne, Germany, he was the son of artist Max Ernst. Moving to New York, as an artist in 1938, he became director of the Art of this Century Gallery, in 1942 and was the first person to hold an exhibition there in 1943. Noted for his talent as a painter, he was posted as an instructor for the Department of Design, at Brooklyn College, in 1951. He also was elected into the American Academy of Arts and Letters and the National Academy of Design in 1977. He died at age 63 in New York City.
