Spartanburg - ALMA BEATRICE ATKINS, 93, of 210 Hawthorne Road, Spartanburg, died Jan. 18, 1992, at Hilltop Manor Nursing Home. A native of Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late HENRY ad MATTIE ANNA STAGGS ATKINS. She was a member of Motlow Creek Baptist Church. She attended North Greenville Academy and graduated from Limestone College. She taught in the public school systems for 34 years and was a member of the South Carolina Retired Teachers Association. Survivors include four sisters, JESSIE MANN and ORNA ATKINS of the home, GENEVA McLENDON of Timmonsville and AMY MAYNOR of Gaffney; one brother, FRED ATKINS of Campobello and a number of nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. today at Motlow Creek Baptist Church Cemetery by the Dr. J. HEYWOOD. The family will be at their respective homes. Memorials may be made to Motlow Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund. Bobo Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
