He was born March 22, 1935, in Warren, the son of the late Lester E. And Dorothy H. Lyle Albaugh.
A Pittsfield resident since 1983, he was a 1954 graduate of Warren High School, where he served as treasurer for their class reunions, and a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1954 to 1957 during the Korean War. He had been employed by the former National Forge Company as a marketing manager/salesman for 32 years, retiring in 1987. Following retirement, he did consulting work for the Erie National Forge Co. for 51/2 years. He was a member of St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church, where he was a church usher, eucharistic minister and a member of the care and concerns committee. He was a member of the Warren Knights of Columbus Council and the Warren Elks Lodge, where he was a past exulted ruler. He was a member of the Lakewood Rod and Gun Club, the Warren Eagles Club, the Youngsville American Legion Post, and the original chairman of the Special Olympics Golf Tournament, which he chaired for 13 years. He was a volunteer with the Warren General Hospital, where he installed Life Line phone equipment in private homes for the homebound for many years; served as treasurer of the Youngsville Boys Basketball Club and the Warren County Horseshoe League, and was currently a board of director on the Area Agency on Aging board. He bowled on the former Forge Bowling League, Buck and Doe Bowling League, and Tuesday Morning Men's League. He was a member of the Blueberry Golf Course Senior League, Maplehurst Youngsville League, and active with the Boy Scouts of America Troop 22, Irvine, Pa.
He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan, and Notre Dame football fan. He was an avid bowler, golfer and lover of his family.
He is survived by his wife, Laura Cosmano Albaugh, whom he married Dec. 17, 1955, in Warren in Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church; a son, Jeff R. Albaugh of Warren; six grandchildren: Scott Hollabaugh of Pittsburgh, Kelly Albaugh and Kristie Sorensen, and Dominica and Olivia Luzzi, all of Warren, and Nicholas Hollabaugh at home; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Ron Albaugh of Clarendon, Pa.; and a sister, Jerry Thomas of Clarendon.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Toni Albaugh Hollabaugh.
