Lenora A. Moul, 68, of Wood River died Saturday, March 28, 2009, at Western Hall County Good Samaritan Center in Wood River.

Lenora was born Nov. 27, 1940, in Laramie, Wyo., to Carl and Bertina (Merrill) Taylor.

 She grew up in the Fairmont area and graduated from Fairmont High School in 1958.

On Sept. 7, 1958, she married Dale Moul in Fairmont. She and her husband lived on the family farm near Fairmont, where she was a cook at Fairview Manor and Fairmont Public Schools. 

In 1990, they moved to Alaska, where she worked at Alaska USA Credit Union. In 1993, they moved back to Fairmont, where she worked at local grocery stores, the Fillmore County Hospital and the Youth Development Center in Geneva. 

The couple retired and moved to Wood River in 2003. 



She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Wood River and was active in United Methodist Women. 

She enjoyed embroidery, crocheting, quilting and sewing as well as reading, playing cards, and baking and cooking for her family.


Survivors include her husband Dale; son Darcy Moul and his wife, Darcy, of Grand Island; daughters Michelle Bryson of Chariton, Iowa, Melanie Ehmen and her husband, Randy, of Bertrand, and Alison Shaffer of Grand Island; grandchildren, Blake Ehmen and his wife, Jami, Brianne Kelly and her husband, Ryan, Trapper Bryson, Sawyer Bryson, Lauren Moul, Benson Moul, Sean Shaffer, Dean Shaffer and Ashley Shaffer; great-granddaughter, Daphne Bryson; brother, Marvin Taylor and his wife, Wendy, of Lincoln; sisters-in-law, Betty Ackland and her husband, Larry, of Oro Valley, Ariz., and Shirley Moul of Fairmont; and nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Charlie Hacker; sister, Zesta Arbuck; grandson, Colt Bryson; and brother, Bruce Taylor.

Services were Wednesday at First United Methodist Church in Wood River with the Rev. Dr. Hyeongdong Baek officiating. Burial of cremains was at the Fairmont Cemetery.



Memorials are suggested to the family to set up a memorial at a later time.

Apfel Funeral Home in Wood River was in charge of arrangements.
