BAXTER
Funeral services for Tommie Jean Campbell, 68, of Baxter, will be held Saturday, Feb. 23, at 2 p.m. at Sycamore Church of Christ. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery.
Family will receive friends today, Friday, Feb. 22, from 5-8 p.m. at the Baxter chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home and Saturday, Feb. 23, from noon until time of services at the church.

Mrs. Campbell died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2008, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center, with her loving husband by her side.
She was born Aug. 28, 1939, in Putnam County to the late William Edward (ED) and Rose Lee Dyer Sutton.

Mrs. Campbell was a member of Sycamore Church of Christ, where she taught the Ladies Sunday School Class for 20 years and had 40 years total teaching in her Christian lifetime. She had been active in church campaigns in Alabama and did missionary work missionary work in Russia and Siberia. She spoke at several Ladies Church Workshops, sharing her experiences in missionary work and he knowledge of the Bible.

She was the assistant director of the Cookeville Senior Citizens Center. She also served on the Advisory
Board of the Foster Grandparent Program, Advisory Board of the Cookeville office of the US Postal Service and the LBJ & C Program.

Mrs. Campbell was an avid supporter of Relay for Life in Putnam County and the American Cancer Society Putnam County Chapter. She had been active in the Breast Cancer Reach to Recovery for several years, and she herself was a breast cancer survivor for 21 years.

Her family includes her husband of 52 years, Herb Campbell of Baxter (whom she married Nov. 30, 1955); a daughter and son-in-law, Rosemary and Eric Johnson of Cookeville; a son and daughter-in-law, Chad and Dana Campbell of Cookeville; a sister and brother-in-law, Janice and Dewey Bowman of Cookeville; a brother and sister-in-law, Eddie Ray and Peggy Sutton of Smithville; seven grandchildren, Heather
Anderson and husband Jonathan, Erica Barker and husband Casey, Kelsey Johnson, Logan and Kennady Campbell, Rachel Mayberry and Justin Johnson; and two great-grandchildren, Jeremy Barker and Alyssa Mayberry.

Pallbearers will be Steven Jones, Casey, Corey and Jesse Sutton, Glen and Meredith Campbell, and Levi and Joseph Jones.

Bros. Jason Hart and Johnny Fox will officiate the services.
