Kenneth D. Wicker the son of Harvey and Luellan (Kirk) Wicker was born March 5, 1932 at Hastings, Nebraska. He departed this life on Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at the Rose Brook Care Center in Edgar, Nebraska at the age of 77 years.
Kenneth grew up in the Edgar community and graduated from Edgar High School and has been an Edgar resident his entire life. On June 9, 1957 Kenneth was united in marriage to Jenelle Fitzke at Glenvil, Nebraska. Kenny served his country during the Korean War and was honoarably discharged. Kenny and Jenelle resided in Edgar where Kenny worked for KN energy from which he retired from.
Kenny had been very active with Edgar Fire and Rescue of which he had been a member for more than 48 years. Kenny had been a long time member of the Edgar American Legion. Kenny also enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a black powder enthusiast.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Jenelle in December of 1996, and brother Richard Wicker.
Survivors include his brother in law, sister in law, nieces, nephews other relatives and his many friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Memorial services will be held this Thursday 2:00 PM, June 11, 2009 at the Edgar Fire Hall. Private family burial will take place at the Edgar Cemetery. There will be no visitation Mr. Wicker was cremated. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.wmsfh.com. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be given to Edgar Fire & Rescue.
