Obituary - Fernata Matheny
Fernata Margaret Tamerius was born October 19, 1902 near Blockton, and died at her home near Sheridan. Mo. August 15, 1946. She was the youngest of a family of eight children, being 43 years, 10 months and 27 days old at the time of her death. Her father, mother and three brothers preceded her in death.
She was married to Paul Matheny in 1920 and they lived in Taylor County until the spring of 1945, when they moved to a farm near Sheridan.
To them six children were born: Mrs. Mardell Straight of Sheridan, Mrs. Deloris Sanders and Mrs. Isabel Link of Clarinda, Paul, Jr., who is serving in the armed forces, Delbert and Ronald of the farm.
Besides her husband and children, she leaves 5 grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Hazel Matheny of Bedford; three brothers, Roy Tamerius of Conway, Hoyt Tamerius of Belleville, Kansas, and Woody Tamerius of Athelstan.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, August 18 at Platteville, by Rev. Ted Masters of Grant City. Burial was in the Platteville cemetery.
