Cameron Texas, Oct 9
John J Joynes, 60, a cotton buyer in this city and resdient here for many years, was found dead at his home, where he lived alone, Sunday afternoon by a neighbor. A verdict of suicide was returned by Justice J. M. Ralston.
Indications were that Joynes had been dead about twelve hours. He was found in bed covered up with a gas tube tied close to his face and a bottle of chloroform by his side. Several ounces of the chloroform had been used. Letters of instructions were found in the room. Surviving are his wife, a son, and daughter, living in Dallas. He also is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Alex Beasley and Mrs. Hester Means, both of Dallas. Dallas Morning News, October 10, 1932
