April 26, 1932 - Storm Lake Register - Frank J. Brown, former well known Storm Lake resident and an uncle of Mrs. Albert Morse, died at his home at Kansas City Friday evening after less than a week's illness with acute indigestion. He was 78 years of age.
Mr. Brown was born at Holland, Mass., where he lived until 17 years of age, when he came to Storm Lake. He was employed in the store owned by his brothers, George W and Freeman Brown, for a time, and later practiced law here.
He was married to Miss Blanche Surdam of Storm Lake and to this union three children were born. They are Dale Brown in the newspaper business at St Joseph, MO; Mildred Brown Cook; and Lloyd Brown, twins living in Kansas City.
After leaving Storm Lake, Mr Brown was in the newspaper business at Ida Grove, Shenandoah, Erie, Pa. and other points. He also lived at Holden, Mo. for some time moving from there to Kansas City about four years ago on account of his wife's health. She has been an invalid for several years, and they went there to be near their children.
Besides his wife and three children, he leaves three grandchildren, one brother Elliott Brown residing in Maine, and other relatives and numerous friends.
The body was brought here for burial Monday. Short funeral services were held at the grave that afternoon at 2:30 conducted by the Rev Edward L Gibson.
