LeRoy "Roy" Leavitt, 64, died June 10 at home.
He was born Aug. 23, 1936, in Provo, Utah. A retired Air Force veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars, he was an aircraft maintenance worker for a crash recovery crew and a 61-year resident of Las Vegas.
He is survived by his wife, Emily; sons, Charles, Douglas and Willy; all of Las Vegas; daughters, Jenny Laub of Las Vegas and Juanita Bates of Idaho; mother, Eldona of Las Vegas; brothers, Vern of Texas, Evan of Bunkerville and Larry of Arizona; sisters, Dorothy Ross of Iowa, Martha Morris of Florida, and Vera Christensen and Lorena Wagasky, both of Las Vegas; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services were held Tuesday at the Viewpoint Ward chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints followed by burial at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society handled arrangements.
