MONETTE — Melissa Nanette Tompkins, 41, passed away Friday, June 5, 2009 at St. Bernards Medical Center.

She was born Nov. 18, 1967, at Paragould. Melissa was a store manager and a member of the Monette First Baptist Church. She always had a smile on her face and loved being around people. Her greatest joys were her nieces and nephews.

Survivors include her mother, Bernice Tompkins of Monette; two brothers, Ritchie Tompkins and wife Anita of Biloxi, Miss., and Jason Tompkins of Monette; a sister and her husband, Patty and Rocky Qualls of Monette; two nieces, Letisha Qualls and Torie Tompkins; three nephews, Garison Tompkins and Lucas Qualls and Adam Tompkins; a great-nephew, Sean Qualls; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, D.A. "Junior" Tompkins.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Macey Cemetery with the Rev. Rusty Bird officiating under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home of Monette.

There will be no visitation.
