David Pluff was born in Springfield, Massachusetts on June 6, 1877. His father was Joseph Pluff; however, he did not know the name of his mother. He five foot six inches tall and had a light complexion. He had lived in the state of Washington for thirty-two years by 1939.
MILITARY RECORD:
Enlisted March 13, 1902 at Salem, Massachusetts; assigned to Company K, 20th U.S. Infantry; and honorably discharged as a private on March 12, 1905 at Manila, Philippines. Re-enlisted there on March 13, 1905; assigned to Hospital Corps; and was honorably discharged at Vancouver, Washington. A pension was awarded on Certificate No. C-2,391,541.
He was married to his wife Augusta on July 7, 1908 in Vancouver. The couple had no living children. Mr. Pluff was by occupation a blacksmith.
