Married Peter Higgins 14 Nov 1825. She was the widow of David Lay of North Carolina, and mother of Burrell Lay. She was born in North Carolina 26 April 1756. She migrated to Pulaski County in 1818 with her son, Burrell and his wife Leanna Newell Lay, their children, and several other families. She died Dec. 8, 1832 and is buried in the Higgins Cemetery, Pulaski County.

Wilkinson: Susannah was born 26 April 1745 to John and Mary Gibson. She married David Lay Sr. about 1758 in Caswell County, N.C. They had about 14 children. David Lay Sr. died about 1815. Susannah came to Kentucky in 1818 with her son, Burrell Lay and family. She married Peter Higgins 14 Nov 1825.
